All you need to know before your Maternity Session
PREPARATION
Good preparation is the basis of a successful photo shoot.
The main rule for Maternity Sessions: a clean style and color scheme, without large prints and inscriptions on clothes. It is better if your wardrobe would match the place, style of the studio and locations, as well as the color scheme.
As basic tones for clothes, I recommend muted, non-screaming shades:
- White
- Light Blue
- Beige
- Light Brown
- Jeans
- Black
Accent colors silver and gold can be added as details to your image, for example: in jewelry, earrings, beads, in manicure or red lipstick, bow in hair, etc.
STYLE
Here are some suggestions of styles to choose from:
- underwear/pajamas: silk, lace, thin straps, combination in combination with a sweater, pajamas or pajama suit.
- Boho/romantic: delicate dress, lace, ruffles and ruffles.
- classic/casual: jeans, shirts, T-shirts, sweaters, jumpers, for men in combination with polo/longsleeve/sweater/
How many outfits to prepare?
I'm for diversity, so I recommend preparing two to three outfits for a Maternity Session.
In a 60 minutes session, we will have time to shoot at least 2 options.
Using outfits made of layers can increase the variety of photos. Ex. Top under an oversized Shirt.

Details mater!
To better tell the story of your growing family I recommend you bring a few personal and meaningful items to turn the photos even more memorable.

- Baby toys - stuffed animals
- Jewelry pieces

General recommendations!
- shoes are not required!
- it's better to take pictures barefoot than in socks. If socks, then light.
- the best hairstyle is clean hair
- light makeup, even if you don't use makeup in everyday life, don't neglect lip balm
- clean, well-groomed hands
- You can take clothes with you and change clothes in the studio
